Hello, I'm Carina, a dedicated Developmental Educator specializing in Autism with over 18 years of experience in the Early Childhood and Education sector. My journey in this field has been profoundly influenced by my personal experiences as an neurodivergent individual and a parent of neurodivergent children.
Having completed my Masters of Autism from the University of Wollongong in 2020, I am deeply committed to employing a holistic and person-centered approach in my practice. My belief in the importance of embracing individual strengths while crafting strategies tailored to daily life is at the core of my work.
Collaboration is key in my approach, as I work closely with allied health professionals, clients, their families, and their support networks. I am passionate about fostering self-determination and self-advocacy skills in autistic and neurodivergent individuals, recognizing the significance of empowerment and agency in their journey.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I serve on the board of a not-for-profit organization, furthering my commitment to advocacy and inclusive practices.
My aim is to continue championing the rights and full participation of individuals with disabilities, guided by a human rights framework, towards a more inclusive and equitable society.
